Historical Note

Robert A. Hilliard (MA, University of Georgia, 1978) is a retired marketing research executive and former professional baseball club owner, who developed and built Skylands Park baseball stadium and recreation complex in Sussex County, New Jersey. He is also the author of the book The Circus is in Town, A Baseball Odyssey (Outskirts Press, Parker, CO, 2016).

Scope and Content

This collection contains documents and printed material regarding Robert Hilliard's ownership of the Hamilton Redbirds, Glen Falls Redbirds, New Jersey Cardinals, and Sussex County Colonels, as well as the development and building of Skylands Park. Included are programs, articles, correspondence, stadium plans, championship rings, and team information.
